The parent company Meter & Instruments was established in 1961.The factory was set up in Chandigarh, for mass production of single phase/poly phase electrical energy meters in collaboration with a foreign OEM Ganz. We were the pioneers in the manufacture of energy meters

• In 1969 Meters & Instruments ventured into the manufacture of Ammunition Fuzes. It was the first Indian Private company in India to be qualified as a strategic supplier of defence products mainly ammunition Fuzes.
• In 1978 the Defence manufacturing business was hived off to a new company Micron Instruments Pvt Ltd.

• Company was selected by Motorola as an offshore partner.
• MoU with Motorola to form JV for the manufacture of electronic artillery fuze XM762 ET/PD in India.
• Export License issued by US Govt. in favor of Micron for the manufacture of modified XM762 ET/PD Fuze in India.

• The Company expanded its business activity into the export arena.
• Micron was selected by Royal Ordnance, British Aerospace, now BAE Systems as a strategic supplier of fuzes and fuze parts to be supplied to the UK MoD. The UK MoD approved Micron as a qualified supplier for defence for ammunition fuzes.

• Micron ventured into the manufacture of healthcare products. Micron was approved by GE healthcare as a preferred & strategic supplier for the manufacture of critical components for X-Ray tube parts.
• In 2002, Micron was selected as a supplier by DIEHL group Germany, a major global ammunition fuze supplier and MAXAM group as approved supplier for various ammunition fuzes and components

• Installation of New Production Facility at Barwala, Haryana India
• New production facility of Micron Commissioned at Barwala in 2010, Simultaneously Micron upgraded its manufacturing and QA equipment and facilities by the addition of state of the art CNC, Production and Inspection equipment.

• In 2014 Micron was selected by Thales as an offset partner for the supply of 70mm Rocket Motors & warheads.
• In 2016 Micron was qualified & approved by Thales for 70mm rocket motor & warheads for the their global supply chain.
• Major expansion by installing additional state of the art Facility at Haryana Unit
• Enterprise Certification – AS 9100
• In 2019 Company won its bulk order for supply of 85000 Nos Rocket motor & Warheads from Thales
